As part of our Water Team, you will help develop and provide high quality, leading edge sustainable engineering solutions to our clients for industrial water/wastewater treatment applications. Our Industrial Water/Wastewater Treatment engineering career path provides you the opportunity to work with and develop innovative technologies within Advisian (Worley) and around the globe.
As a contributing member of a project team, you will work with senior engineers to apply and develop knowledge and skills in many areas with a focus on industrial water/wastewater treatment. Projects may include industrial process engineering, water chemistry, water treatment, wastewater treatment, regulatory compliance, and pollution prevention. Each day, you will have the opportunity to utilize your technical skills as well as collaborate with our engineering staff to support projects in the industrial engineering markets.
Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12 years’ experience in industrial process water / wastewater treatment, a high degree of computer literacy, good time management and priority setting skills; flexibility and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Are detail-oriented, able to follow instructions and to communicate with staff to understand assignments or seek clarification as necessary.
- Have a strong desire to become a consultant (team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter that takes initiative, is adaptable, and provides a high quality of work).
- Lead and or contribute to developing new business opportunities from conceptual phase work through EPC. Experience developing concession design build operate, design build finance operate is a plus.
- Roles may include project management or technical lead roles for treatability studies, pilot studies, water/ wastewater sampling and analysis, wastewater treatment alternatives evaluation, regulatory permitting, and pollution prevention evaluations.
- Have excellent organization skills and are able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and under deadline pressure.
- Endeavor to understand the customer's need and how the project relates to other elements of the client's organization and to other projects.
- Contribute to project teams by working with subject matter experts to apply and develop knowledge and skills in areas that focus on industrial water/wastewater treatment.
- Looking for seller/doers in traditional markets such as refining and chemicals, upstream, power, and mining. Experience in energy transition markets such as renewable diesel and hydrogen is a plus.
- Participate in achieving a Target Zero safety plan
Experience and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or other related engineering or science discipline,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- High level of self-motivation and ability to motivate others,
- Understanding of business principles for selling and delivering consulting and design projects and related project delivery tools and metrics,
- Experience managing proposals through commercial closure,
- Abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination,
- Ability to travel across North America and worldwide.
- At least 12 years of combined experience in consulting and detail design process engineering, business development, and project management, of water and wastewater management for industrial clients,
Salary Range for this role: $140,000 - $215,000 USD per year.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Remote or hybrid (office/remote) working is an option.
- PhD or Master’s in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering or related discipline is desirable, but, not required,
- Location flexible,

- Business development and project delivery of water and wastewater management and treatment,
