Treatment Plant Operator Ii - Wastewater

The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Treatment Plant Operator II to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our EPW Wastewater Department.

The Treatment Plant Operator II in Wastewater earns a competitive salary of $22.24 to $24.07/hour based on qualifications. There is also certification pay for licenses higher than required for the position. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A day in the life of a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II

• Involvement with plant inspections by TCEQ.
• Turns on, monitors and makes adjustments to equipment during the course of the day to maintain removal of solids in accordance with process procedures.
• Reads operator's process control reports, logbooks and lab sampling results.
• Performs daily plant checks of the wastewater plants mechanical, chemical and electrical equipment operations.
• Troubleshoots and fixes problems at the wastewater facilities.
• Runs daily process control sample testing using lab equipment onsite according to plant permit requirements; checks lab results and makes corrections.
• Performs plant maintenance and makes repairs to any equipment that may need to be repaired or replaced.

Requirements

Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college chemistry, biology, or closely related field.

Requires four (4) years of wastewater operations or closely related experience.

Wastewater Treatment Operator Class C License
