Opportunity Summary

The Plant Manager is responsible for providing management direction and leadership to ensure that the facility is operated in a safe, reliable, and economic manner consistent with the site Operations and Maintenance (O&M) agreement, contracts, permits, rules, regulations and written instructions from the facility owner.

Your scope of responsibility includes the following primary functions:

  • Direct the team in the performance of their duties in order to maintain reliable, safe, and efficient plant operations
  • Oversee the daily upkeep of necessary plant logs and records
  • Ensure that the morale and motivation of plant personnel is maintained at a high level at all times
  • Direct the sourcing, screening and hiring of new or replacement personnel as needed
  • Oversee the preparation of required client and production reports, budgets, environmental compliance reports, etc.
  • Administer the plant's Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Administrative, Training, Chemistry and Environmental QA/QC programs to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant
  • Responsible for ensuring that all plant personnel and plant objectives are in alignment with client requirements
  • Manage and oversee the planning, budgeting contracting, and performance of planned and unplanned plant outages

Working Relationships

The Plant Manager reports to the Operations Director and supervises the plant Operations & Maintenance Technicians. The Plant Manager is the single point of contact between NAES and the Owner on all matters pertaining to the operation, maintenance and commercial management of the plant.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time as well as stair and ladder climbing. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.).

Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.

Compensation

The initial compensation will range from $130,000 to $156,000 depending on experience.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience supervising hourly employees
  • Power plant experience with a work history that demonstrates a pattern of accomplishments and advancement
  • Verbal communication skills to clearly communicate tasks, instructions and train personnel.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Written communication skills to write operating procedures, routine reports, work requests, etc.
