Job Description
Position Description


Manages all plant operations for assigned location(s). Provides leadership within, and continual development of the operations structure including but not limited to: production and financial controls, plant security and safety, regulatory compliance, quality, facilities, and all manufacturing areas. Works cross-functionally to ensure consistency in operations and related strategies. Ensures large-scale projects are completed on time, on budget and meet specified quality standards, production requirements and goals.


Job Responsibilities


  • Represents company interests in dealings with suppliers and customers.
  • Drives cost reduction and continuous improvement concepts and projects to achieve annual goals. Monitors and improves employee productivity and effectiveness related to Operations and maintains a commitment to employee involvement.
  • Manages all aspects of plant safety, security and environmental compliance including consistently administering company rules, regulations and policies.
  • Works closely with plant management staff to develop and implement strategies for operational improvement. Ensures efficiency standards for all operations are met.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Develops capital and other annual budgeting including evaluating the Economic Value Added (EVA) and Return on Investment (ROI) impact for location. Maintains and manages established budgets throughout fiscal year to achieve financial goals.
  • Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget.
  • Manages the effective use of production hours, skills, equipment and facilities and is accountable for manufacturing costs, quality and production quantities.
  • Oversees all plant operations and related support areas.
  • Evaluates new technologies and recommends strategies for acquisition and implementation.


Job Skills Requirements


  • Strong leadership and motivational skills and the ability to develop leadership qualities in others
  • Ability to manage projects and activities in multiple locations with diverse groups of people
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with diverse groups of people
  • Well-developed analytical skills and knowledge of analysis techniques that assist in report preparation for decision-making purposes
  • Ability to coordinate and organize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with office applications and enterprise resource planning (SAP)
  • Demonstrated success in implementing large-scale improvements and changes in complex and diverse environments
  • Familiarity with Purchasing and Industrial Engineering functions as well as plant layout efficiencies
  • Technical experience and familiarity with all facets of manufacturing processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical service practices, processes, procedures and production support activities including efficiency levels and productivity standards


Education


Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experience


Experience Requirements


  • Manufacturing and management experience preferred
  • Minimum ten years experience in a manufacturing, technical service or related field required
