Physician - Telestroke Neurologist, Part Time (100% Remote Stroke Position)

Corewell Health West's department of Neurological Health is growing to add a remote part time, fellowship trained stroke neurologist to their already robust vascular neurology team. This position will be 100% virtual and provide telestroke consults to our regional hospitals as well as participate in the night call rotation. The ideal candidate is an experienced, fellowship trained stroke neurologist who is looking to join an established stroke team and is confident providing virtual care.

Essential Functions

• Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
• Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
• Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
• Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities. Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
• Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
• Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
• Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
• Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
