As a Phlebotomist (Blood Donation Specialist), you will transform “the gift” to save and enhance lives while assisting our blood donors in their mission to donate a unit of their life saving blood.
Training:
Our training is best in class. Our Education and Training Specialists will teach you all aspects of the position to be a successful BDS. In training, you will learn how to:

• Perform short health exams,
• Perform venipuncture.
• Conduct a medical / social history interview

Schedule:

• The start and end times of the shifts vary to meet the needs of the scheduled blood drives and because of this shift lengths will vary as well.
• The average shift is 6-8 hours which includes the travel time to and from the blood drive site and the blood drive itself.
• Saturdays are in rotation and shifts generally end between 2-3pm at the latest.
• Variable Monday - Saturday.
• The schedule is provided 3 weeks in advance

Our Blood Drives:

• Community Drives are usually scheduled from 4pm – 8pm
• High school drives typically occur between 8am – noon.
• Occur within a 16-county radius
• Your schedule will consist of a mix of the following types of drives
• Typically, corporate blood drives occur between the hours of 8am – 5pm.
• A company vehicle is used to transport staff to and from the blood drive location.

Required

• Must be able to meet required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Successful completion of the on job specific training program will be required.
• Valid drivers license and the ability to be insured by our insurance company.

Desired Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant
• The successful candidate will be resourceful, detail oriented and have critical thinking skills.
