Salary Information

Department Summary
The Department of Dance and Theatre is housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, with approximately 400 theatre majors and minors in theatre. The Department offers a BA degree in Theatre with concentrations in Performance, Design/Technology, General Studies and Theatre Teacher Certification, and a BA degree in Dance and Dance Teacher Certification. The vibrant undergraduate program delivers a rigorous theatre education within a liberal arts context. The Department produces a full season 5-6 productions as well as several laboratory events directed by faculty, guest artists, or students. Additionally, UNT Theatre is committed to hiring guest artists to engage with students and faculty.

Position Overview
Costume shop supervisor is to oversee all aspects of costume construction for theatre and dance productions. Supervise student staff. Supervisor for labs for costume production.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Skill in managing one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
  • Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database and word processing software.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively and patiently with students.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
  • Skill in the operation, maintenance, and repair of applicable equipment and tools.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in sewing and clothing construction.

Work Schedule
M-F 9 am – 6 pm, with a possibility of schedule flex during production season
