POSITION SUMMARY: The major responsibility of the position is clinical instruction of students in either the Associate Degree Program in Nursing or the Practical Nursing Certificate Program. Responsible for teaching, supervising, and evaluating Quincy College nursing students in the clinical and/or laboratory setting. The work schedule may include late afternoon or evening instruction and/or weekend clinical instruction. Other responsibilities include attending Nursing Division meetings as required.
We are seeking qualified instructors with experience in Various Disciplines including Adult Medical Surgical, Pediatric, and Maternity.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Security Policy and Notification of Security Reporting
- Demonstrate motivation, self-direction, and perseverance toward achieving the philosophy and mission of the Division of Nursing;
- Participate in mandatory training/coursework, including new adjunct faculty orientation and clinical site orientation as applicable:
- Title IX and Sexual Misconduct
- Non-Discrimination & Sexual Harassment
- Security Policy and Notification of Security Reporting
- FERPA
- Municipal Ethics Law
- Maintain attendance and clinical experience progress records for assigned students;
- Advise assigned students;
- Serve as a professional role model upholding regulatory, ethical, and nursing standards of practice;
- Evaluate student performance and competence in the laboratory and/or clinical settings;
- Communicate effectively with faculty, students and members of the agency intraprofessional team;
- Title IX and Sexual Misconduct
- Maintain communication with lead course faculty and the applicable Assistant Dean of Nursing regarding student progress and/or instructional issues;
- Direct, instruct, and facilitate student learning outcomes in the clinical or laboratory setting
- Engage with students in a teaching/learning process that prepares students for the practice of nursing;
- Participates in clinical agency orientation if applicable;
- Collaborate with college personnel and the staff of health care agencies;
- Prepare patient assignments, supervise, educate, and evaluate students in diverse clinical settings;

- Comply with clinical agency policies and procedures as applicable;

- Continue to improve expertise in nursing and teaching through academic study, clinical practice, and other appropriate professional development activities;

Job Requirements:
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN), Masters preferred from an accredited college or university.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Health requirements: Two MMR's or positive titers indicating immunity, Completed Hepatitis B series and/or positive titer indicating immunity, Varicella antibody titers, TD within 10 years, Annual negative PPD or Chest X-ray within 7 years for positive responders, and Annual flu shot.
- Ability to meet clinical site CORI requirements pursuant to licensing and CHSB regulations.
- Laboratory and/or clinical simulation teaching experience preferred;
- Demonstrates understanding and commitment of Nursing Education and working with a diverse population.
- Current licensure in good standing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts required;
- Qualified applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Prior teaching experience preferred;
- Minimum of two years of full-time employment in nursing or its equivalent within the past five years and evidence of clinical competence in area of clinical instruction required;
- Experience in working in a concept-based curriculum preferred.
- Flexibility and commitment in work arrangements required.
- Knowledge of Concept Based Curriculum is preferred.
- Ability to adapt, manage and prioritize in role.
- Ability to teach online, hybrid, or remote if necessary; (Online, Hybrid, Remote, or blended teaching experience is highly desirable.)
- Current Basic Life Care for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification.
Additional Preferred Requirements: Successful completion of Quincy College's certification program (Canvas, Quality Matters, TSR) for teaching or, in the sole determination of Quincy College, the equivalent of that program
