Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Central Intake Coordinator in the Carlson Recovery Center program at Behavioral Health Network!
Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Carlson Recovery Center program with the following:
- Paperwork related to service is high quality and timely.
- Demonstrates sound ability to navigate the intake database and complete forms.
- Verifies client insurances accurately.
- Clearly communicates admission expectations to clients.
- Maintains professional boundaries with clients.
- Knowledgeable about Carlson Recovery Center programs, other BHN programs, and those offered in the community.
- Demonstrates cultural competence in dealing with clients with a variety of different cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrates competency in risk assessment and helps staff to determine when a potential client needs referral to a higher level of care.
- Demonstrates willingness and ability to treat challenging and diverse client populations.
- Demonstrates appropriate and timely communication with referral sources and staff from programs for which intakes are provided.
- Proficient and professional in engaging clients and obtaining answers to intake questions.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of community resources, and how to help clients access them.
Who are we?
The Carlson Recovery Center in Springfield, MA is a 32-bed Acute Treatment Services program that serves those 18 years of age and older who are suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and are at the beginning stages of their recovery. A 24-hour multidisciplinary team provides acute treatment and detoxification services.

What are we looking for in a Central Intake Coordinator?
- Experience verifying insurances preferred
- Call Center or Intake experience preferred.
- Minimum of a high school diploma. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including email, and database systems.
- Fully Remote position open to Massachusetts residents only
- EHR experience helpful.
- Must have knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders and treatment, including severely mentally ill.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
**NOTICE**
In accordance with the BHN’s Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents, and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated during flu season (defined as October 1st – through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.
