Pcb Soldering Specialist (Contractor - Flexible Workforce)

Experience: 2-5 years of experience in Printed Circuit Board hand soldering down to 0201 component size

Work-Time Expectancy: Variable (Contractor As-Needed Basis). Identification of help needed can come within 24 hours of need. Individual days/nights/weekends. Expect < 20 hrs per month.

Role Description: NuCurrent is looking for an PCB Soldering Specialist who is motivated to work closely with a talented and diverse engineering team and has the skill set to take on the assembly of advanced wireless power systems. The candidate will work very closely with the Engineering Lab Manager, electrical and mechanical engineers to provide expert technical assistance with wireless power systems and exhibit strong cultural values that put the customer first, go beyond the standard, show strong ownership, innovate further, and show strong people skills.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

• Modify wireless power solutions for a diversity of applications, including consumer electronics, industrial devices, automotive, medical, etc.
• Work with cross-functional engineering team to assist Wireless Power projects to success
• PCB Soldering Specialist -> Hands-on soldering and assembly on an as-needed basis

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Usage of hand assembly tools.
• Perform manual assembly of various wireless power transfer systems.
• Understanding of component sizes/packages and wire gauges.
• Ability to work under a microscope.
• Ensuring a high level of quality in all phases of prototyping.
• Printed circuit board SMD (down to 0201 component size) and through hole soldering and modification work.
• Read and interpret PCB part placement instructions, electrical schematics, and other specifications.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Ability to multitask and be flexible
• Proficiency in use of electrical modification equipment (soldering station, heat-gun and preheater)
• Ability to work individually
• Passion for working on electrical hardware

PREFERABLE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Usage of DMM’s, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
• Basic knowledge of Altium
• Impedance Analyzer testing
• Experience in a development lab setting
