Payroll Tax Manager

As Fingercheck continues to grow, we want to preserve our people-centric, high-performance culture. As a result, we are looking for a thoughtful, inspiring, and passionate Payroll Tax Manager reporting to the Head of Tax.

As the Payroll Tax Manager, you will assist the Tax officer in meeting Service Level Agreements and tax filings. The Payroll Tax Manager will collaborate with clients and colleagues to meet our client’s payroll tax needs.

SALARY BAND: 100k-120k + Bonus

Essential Responsibilities

  • Track and evaluate performance trends and statistics to ensure compliance with the amendment procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate daily coverage for Tax Operations.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision while escalating only the most challenging problems to appropriate staff.
  • Demonstrate consistent follow-through and communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Support education of clients and Payroll Services teams with tax-related questions.
  • Oversee the new client entry for accuracy.
  • Assign Salesforce cases and ensure the team works on open issues meeting Service Level Agreements timelines.
  • Assist with manual and amended payroll tax filings.
  • Assist with contacting tax agencies and updating relevant tax forms.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax issues related to Federal, State, and Local tax compliance.
  • Research, interpret, and understand existing or revised tax codes, laws, or forms.
  • Oversee staff for correct processes and action for tax notice resolution.
  • Assist in reviewing QE variances for accuracy.
  • Assist in correcting client data integrity errors for successful filing.
  • Identify concerns or issues and address the staff as needed.
  • Answer tax compliance and general questions from clients & internal staff.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax issues related to Federal, State, and Local tax compliance.
  • Identify training needs and mentor staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency with GSuite, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
  • 2+ Years of payroll experience
  • 2+ Years of manager experience
  • High level of computer literacy and comfort learning new software independently
  • Salesforce experience is a plus

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
