Team Description:

Cascade’s 11 person HR team works in partnership with managers and employees as trusted partners and advisors on all people-related strategies, initiatives, and matters. Position Summary:

As a Payroll Manager, you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of our payroll function. You will collaborate closely with the HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate processing of payroll data, adherence to payroll policies, and compliance with relevant regulations. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our payroll records. You will also handle payroll-related inquiries from employees, provide support during audits, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. This position is a direct report to our HR Operations Manager.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective internal controls over payroll area
  • Review and audit master file and pay data entries, pay taxes, W2, YTD totals and file amendments
  • Administer the automated Time & Attendance system, processes and training
  • Work closely with Human Resource and Accounting on all payroll related issues
  • Create and maintain policy and procedures documentation for all payroll related processes
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness and ownership of the entire payroll process
  • Perform all activities necessary to process the companies’ payrolls, including maintaining related records, preparing accounting transactions and documents, updating payroll procedures, processing voluntary and involuntary deductions, processing any manual checks when needed and ensuring that all changes to HR/Benefits/Payroll are processed correctly
  • Management, preparation and disbursement of bi-weekly payroll in a and multi-state environment using integrated HR/Payroll software and Time and Attendance software
  • Prepare various payroll and management reports; ad hoc, weekly, biweekly, quarterly, annually and support management requests
  • Manage, reconcile and remit biweekly 401k reports
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have proven customer service orientation and the ability to work under pressure, while meeting all deadlines
  • Experience with UKG Pro (formerly UltiPro) required
  • AA degree or higher and a minimum of 5 years of related experience in an integrated HRIS payroll function required
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be very detail oriented, have strong excel skills, and possess the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel within the organization
  • Must have solid knowledge of payroll laws, basic accounting/reconciliation skills, and experience with 401k plan administration for payroll
  • Highly prefer experience administering a non-qualified deferred comp program
  • CPP certification preferred

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000, with the exact amount driven by several factors including relevant experience, knowledge, education, degree to which a candidate meets the role requirements, and other qualifications.
