Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for processing the company Payroll, consisting of both weekly and biweekly cycles, for several multi-state facilities, working under tight time constraints. Maintains records of hours worked, time off, rate changes, retroactive pay, tax information, address changes, and related benefits deductions. Processes timesheets on a weekly basis, verifies accruals, calculates overtime, and updates information into the system, ensuring hours and schedules are correct. Analyzes new hires and employee changes that are passed into payroll.
Must have recent experience processing 1,000+ employees' payroll per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answers questions from management and TSM’s regarding their paycheck, deductions taken and accrued time.
  • Responsible for processing the company Payroll, consisting of both weekly and biweekly cycles, for several multi-state facilities, working under tight time constraints.
  • Participates in special projects and perform other duties as required.
  • Review Workday on a weekly basis to ensure that all timecards have been edited correctly and approved by the designated approver.
  • Responsible for creating multiple reports including but not limited to the funding reports for taxes, cash, direct deposits and various voluntary benefit deductions that are prepared for the Treasury Department on a weekly basis.
  • Process special payments, including commissions and bonuses, as appropriate.
  • Analyze all new hires and employee changes that are passed into payroll.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Maintains record of hours worked, time off, rate changes, retroactive pay, tax information, address changes, and related benefit deductions.
  • Assist in the year-end W2 reconciliation and distribution.
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Thorough understanding of multi-State payrolls.
  • Focus on internal and external customer service
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
  • Good understanding of Payroll policies and procedures.
  • Must be proficient in Excel-V-lookup and Pivot tables.
  • Ability to download reports and import files.
  • Familiarity with ADP or comparable Payroll applications.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically, 3 or more years of related experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Typically, High School education, vocational training and/or on-the-job training. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
No special physical demands required.
The posted range for this position is $36,000-$63,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
