Payroll Coordinator

New York, NY

$60k-$65k plus bonus eligibility



Due to the growth of the organization, this premier provider of Cash Management and Securities-based lending solutions to the financial services industry is seeking a highly motivated and meticulous individual to join their Finance team. As a Payroll Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for their employees.


This position requires the ability to use ADP software and a solid educational background in accounting or business.


What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in reconciling journal entries for each payroll to the general ledger.
  • Assist with the year-end processing of bonus and deferred compensation payroll reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Audit payroll for accuracy and reconcile to the G/L and bank accounts.
  • Perform allocations for benefit and transit invoices.
  • Communicate payroll deductions and compensation data to the HR team.
  • Reconcile liability accounts related to payroll and various compensation accounts.
  • Update 401k and Salary upload schedules.
  • Prepare FDIC operating reports daily.
  • Process semi-monthly employee ADP payroll and ensure all deductions and earnings are coded properly.


What they need from you:

  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and General Ledger Accounting software
  • Knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • A high degree of dedication to improvement and a keen sense of ownership
  • At least 1-2 years of ADP payroll processing experience in a corporate environment
  • Ability to partner and communicate effectively with the HR team and employees regarding payroll-related issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a similar discipline
