Payroll Coordinator
New York, NY
$60k-$65k plus bonus eligibility
Due to the growth of the organization, this premier provider of Cash Management and Securities-based lending solutions to the financial services industry is seeking a highly motivated and meticulous individual to join their Finance team. As a Payroll Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for their employees.
This position requires the ability to use ADP software and a solid educational background in accounting or business.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in reconciling journal entries for each payroll to the general ledger.
- Assist with the year-end processing of bonus and deferred compensation payroll reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Audit payroll for accuracy and reconcile to the G/L and bank accounts.
- Perform allocations for benefit and transit invoices.
- Communicate payroll deductions and compensation data to the HR team.
- Reconcile liability accounts related to payroll and various compensation accounts.
- Update 401k and Salary upload schedules.
- Prepare FDIC operating reports daily.
- Process semi-monthly employee ADP payroll and ensure all deductions and earnings are coded properly.
What they need from you:
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and General Ledger Accounting software
- Knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- A high degree of dedication to improvement and a keen sense of ownership
- At least 1-2 years of ADP payroll processing experience in a corporate environment
- Ability to partner and communicate effectively with the HR team and employees regarding payroll-related issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a similar discipline
