Patient Services Manager Jobs

Job Summary:

Join our outstanding management team as a Patient Services Manager! Never dull, this role will have wide-ranging responsibilities, to include the planning and supervision of patient food assembly and service, scheduling, and coordinating our room service style MyDining program at a 550-bed hospital in Pensacola. The PSM leads a team of 30-35 supervisors, catering associates and stockers. Reports to the Senior Director of Dining Services. Our Patient Services and Culinary team work closely together to provide excellent food quality, customer service and healing to our patient population. Anticipated schedule is Monday-Friday, rotating 1 weekend every 5 weeks as Manager on Duty.

Responsibilities:

• Establishes goals and oversees implementation of patient food services needs based upon medical direction, patient population and contract
• Participates and attends all departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs, as appropriate
• Stays in sync with regulatory agencies, including federal, state, and Joint Commission as evidenced by successful completion of surveys with no deficiencies
• Approximately 75% supervision of patient service tray line, 5% hiring and training, 5% scheduling, 5% evaluating and coaching of associates, 10% ensuring patient satisfaction
• Follows facility, department, TouchPoint and Compass safety policies and procedures to include occurrence reporting
• Participates in facility-wide and department Performance Improvement Program and on Performance Improvement teams to improve processes and patient care
• Follows dietary restrictions on special or modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of diet order limitations
• Visits patients on an assigned nursing unit or area and helps ensure that every patient is visited by a member of the management or professional team at least once during their hospital stay
• Ensures staff assists in achieving stated patient satisfaction goals
• Performs other tasks that may be assigned
• Hires, leads, directs, coaches, trains, and develops patient services team members

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of modified diets
• ServSafe certified useful
• Must be willing to participate in patient satisfaction programs/activities
• Effective skills in interpersonal, computer, mathematical, reasoning
• 2-year college degree with 1 year work experience with supervisory responsibilities preferred. Certified Dietary Manager Certification required in lieu of an associate degree or higher
