Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and creative Pastry Chef to join our European Patisserie team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for European-style modern patisserie and a few years of experience in the pastry or bakery field, however, we are willing to train for the right candidate. Experience in chocolate work is a plus. As a Pastry Chef, you will primarily execute existing recipes while also having the opportunity to showcase your creativity and contribute to the development of new desserts. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of European-style modern pastries and baked goods, including entremets, macarons, tartlets, choux-type desserts.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety as we operate in an open kitchen.
  • Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ingredient procurement to minimize waste.
  • Ensure timely production and delivery of orders.
  • Contribute creative ideas and suggestions to enhance our pastry offerings for our hyper seasonal menu.
  • Utilize modern dessert and chocolate techniques to create visually appealing and delicious treats.
  • Stay updated with current trends in pastry and dessert preparation techniques.
  • Execute existing recipes with repeatable precision, paying attention to detail and presentation.Quality is always top priority.


Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Portfolio showcasing previous work and achievements is highly appreciated.
  • Demonstrated creativity and ability to contribute innovative ideas.
  • Strong knowledge of basic pastry techniques.
  • Experience in chocolate work is highly desirable but not a necessity.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, being able to multitask is a must.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, but can work with the team to reach common goals.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in pastry / bakery, bonus if it is in modern European patisserie.
  • Proficient in handling heavy equipment and lifting up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Have a current Oregon Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Passion for the art of pastry and a genuine enthusiasm for the job.
  • Flexibility to work part-time or full-time hours, with a schedule that meets business needs.
