Part-Time Library Assistant Jobs

Prince William Public Libraries is seeking an energetic, adaptable, customer service-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Assistant. Library Assistants are a critical part of our team in creating a welcoming inclusive environment. We work independently and as part of a team at the service desk to ensure materials, services and resources are easily accessible for patrons. The position is located at Haymarket Gainesville Community Library in Haymarket, VA.
ABOUT THIS ROLE:

• Perform opening/closing duties, process holds,
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Process passport applications
• Attend trainings, may assist in training incoming staff.
• Assist shelving, responsible for presentation/neatness of the library’s collection.
• Responsible for working at the service desk,
• Create and maintain displays to highlight the collection.
• Participate in outreach activities.
• Assist patrons with technology, troubleshoot equipment,

• Experience working in a busy customer service focused environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency with office software (Office 365, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
• Cash register experience
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
