The Clinical Research Coordinator will recruit study participants; work to retain study participants; act as intermediary between services and departments while overseeing data and specimen collection and management; create, clean, update, and manage databases and comprehensive datasets and reports; compile reports for PI and Program Manager; and perform other duties as assigned.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- Ability to work well independently, complete projects in a timely manner, and prioritize multiple projects to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with participants, team members, other departments, and outside institutions.
- Excellent organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team and with diverse study participants, to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co-workers, collaborators, and physicians.
- Demonstrated record of exceptional attendance and reliability.
- Must be able to work on occasional evenings and weekends (as needed).Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to operate effectively in a changing organizational and technological environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and an understanding of patient population to create rapport and a relationship, while also giving insight to what is realistic and appropriate for patient participation.
- Fluent in Spanish (both speaking, reading and writing)
- Knowledge of database building/analysis, and data management within some of the following: MS Access, MS Excel and REDCap platforms.
- HS graduation and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Effective Cash Handling Procedures
- Certification by the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
- Ability to develop project plans/schedules and motivate team to meet deadlines.
- Health Information and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
