Summary
***This is a work from home role that must reside in Horry County, South Carolina.*** Responsible for the successful marketing (sales, renewals, and/or service) of group and/or individual accounts for products as defined by production quotas within assigned territory. Customarily and regularly engaged in outside sales.
Description
Location: Horry County, SC (Remote in Horry County, SC)
What You'll Do:
- Develops and executes marketing plans for new sales and/or retention of existing accounts within assigned territory. Prepares and presents proposals and communications to groups, agents, and/or individuals.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with groups, agents, and/or individuals. Assesses agency, agent, group, and/or individual sales opportunities and works with groups, agent, and/or individuals to resolve problem issues.
- Conducts on-going market research and provides key information that may lead to sales. Prepares and submits required marketing reports to management detailing how best to position company products.
- Maintains product/industry knowledge and marketing skills by attending trading seminars, continuing education classes, conferences, etc.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's Degree, any major.
Required Work Experience:
- One-year sales and marketing.
Preferred Work Experience:
- Three years previous outside sales experience including customer service.
- Active Department of Insurance Licenses in Health, Life, and Accident
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace.
- Effective presentation and customer service skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while being part of a team.
- Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
- High level presentation skills
- Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers.
- Analytical or critical thinking skills.
Required Software and Tools:
- Microsoft Office. Excel, Access, or other spreadsheet/database software.
Required License and Certificate:
- Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed. Licensure must be maintained while in job.
Work Environment:
- Flexible work hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Work will involve day travel, meetings, and transportation of materials.
