This position is not part of the classified personnel system, applications will be accepted from Residents and Non-Residents of Colorado.


Incumbent will be required to complete work for CDE within Colorado.

Description of Job


Work Environment


This position is Full-time, Hybrid (Remote/Home Office w/ requirement to report to Work location per business needs).


Office hours are typically Mon-Fri, 8 am-5 pm
  • Work in conjunction and collaboration with the Director of the Office of Student Support, the OST Manager, the OST program team, grants fiscal management staff, research and evaluation staff and the program assistant for the effective administration of the Colorado Academic Accelerator Grant Program.
  • Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree
  • DL Not Required: Required to independently obtain and determine means to complete travel requirements.
  • Serve as a member of the OST team in the Office of Student Support. Includes attending and contributing to OST team meetings, participating in team trainings, technical assistance, and program evaluation.
  • Assist with the tools that monitor grantee program quality, included but not limited to monitoring tools, reporting surveys, and continuation plans by reviewing, evaluating, and providing resources to grantees.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in education, in math instruction or intervention, academic support programs, STEM-focused or math-focused enrichment programming, out-of-school time programming, or positive youth development. And;
  • Required lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, walking, etc.
  • Prepare for and present at meetings pertaining to OST programs such as grantee orientations, trainings, conferences, networking days, etc.
  • Serve as lead on program content areas, including but not limited to: academic learning supports (especially in math), academic enrichment activities (especially in math), positive youth development, promoting family programming such as family, school and community partnerships, family engagement and other opportunities for math literacy and related educational development for families; and promoting best practices and effective strategies in OST programs.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures that align with state statute, guidelines, and best practices related to STEM-focused and math-focused OST grant programs.
  • Required to sit, view a computer screen, and utilize a keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in grant management and coordination; including, but not limited to administration, budgeting, data analysis related to performance progress, evaluation, and reporting to funding agencies.
  • LIGHT/Office environment:
  • Serve as a lead specialist for the Colorado Academic Accelerator Grant Program in the Office of Student Support. Includes assisting with the management and administration of grant-funded OST programs, serving as a lead program contact for grantees.
  • Essential Functions (ADAAA)
  • A Remote (Home) office is required
  • Ensure accurate collection, evaluation, monitoring, and processing of evaluations through data collection systems and monitoring visits.
  • Responsible for advanced technical assistance to grantees throughout the lifecycle of the Colorado Academic Accelerator Grant Program, including the preparation, coordination and implementation of professional development to be provided to grantees, and developing tools and other resources to increase the capacity of grant-funded OST programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Extended hours during the evening or the weekend may be required by business needs
  • Coordinate and conduct timely review of grant budgets and other required reports specific to the Colorado Academic Accelerator Grant Program and funding requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education or a related field such as science, technology, engineering and/or math (STEM), social work, psychology, or counseling with emphasis in youth development or related field. And;
  • Monitor grantees for grant compliance and implementation of high-quality OST programs, including the assessment of grantees’ progress toward meeting state performance measures, especially increasing math proficiency, and other grant outcomes on a regular basis.
  • May be required to lift and move up to 10 lbs of force frequently or 20 lbs occasionally
  • Required to report to the work location per business needs OR Daily
  • 5% Travel required within Denver Metro/Downtown for Meetings/Training

OPTION 1: Experience Minimum Qualifications
  • Grant management and coordination; including, but not limited to administration, budgeting, data analysis related to performance progress, evaluation, and reporting to funding agencies.
  • Education, in math instruction or intervention, academic support programs, STEM-focused or math-focused enrichment programming, out-of-school time programming, or positive youth development. And;

  • Grant management and coordination; including, but not limited to administration, budgeting, data analysis related to performance progress, evaluation, and reporting to funding agencies.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree ineducation or a related field such as science, technology, engineering and/or math (STEM), social work, psychology, or counseling with emphasis in youth development OR a field of study related to the work assignment will substitute for Six (6) years of the required experience, But not the specific experience listed below.
  • Education, in math instruction or intervention, academic support programs, STEM-focused or math-focused enrichment programming, out-of-school time programming, or positive youth development. And;
  • Three (3) years of experience* in

Qualifications And Conditions
Qualifications for Success in the Position:
  • Experience with expanded learning opportunities and out-of-school time activities that focus on STEM-based or math-based interventions to accelerate learning.
  • Five (5) years of experience in education, in math instruction or intervention, academic support programs, STEM-focused or math-focused enrichment programming, out-of-school time programming, or positive youth development.
  • Build trusting relationships with grantees to help address challenges and meet student needs.
  • Evidence of extensive experience in coordinating and providing assistance and professional development to staff in education or related fields.
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Knowledge of grant management methods including implementation with fidelity of approved plans, program development to achieve performance goals and outcomes, data analysis and evaluation, monitoring, reporting to funder, and budget management.
  • Ability to:
  • Demonstrated presentation, training, and facilitation skills. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Comprehend and apply state statutory language and regulatory and non-regulatory guidance to situational contexts for ensuring compliance with the law.
  • Experience developing and/or delivering STEM programming.
  • Knowledge of the K-12 school system in regards to best practices for out-of-school time programs.
  • This position is primarily remote and applicant should have access to consistent, reliable and fast internet.
  • Manage time and priorities under deadline-driven workloads, and work independently with minimum supervision while working collaboratively on a small team.
  • Use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. - Take initiative to identify, oversee, and complete special projects related to continuous improvement of the successful administration of grant programs.
  • Identify and review complex problems and related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Analyze and evaluate data to inform specific decisions and technical assistance provided to grantees for the high-quality implementation of their grant programs.
