Our work depends on Organizational Change Management Advisor joining our team to play a key role in ensuring projects meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. This role will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. The Organizational Change Management Advisor will also support projects by integrating change management activities into their project plans. The change advisor will guide the strategy, planning, production, and execution of an OCM plan tailored for each initiative.

HOW A ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE MANAGEMENT ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Work with project team to integrate OCM plan into the overall project management plan and support execution of the OCM, including but not limited to the following:
  • Define Adoption Plan and Sustainability: Measure KPI’s (defined at the strategy develop phase) throughout the phases. Gauge user experience through surveys and identify continuous learning and ongoing user engagement opportunities.
  • OCM Plan: Based on findings from the analysis and assessment activities, develop an OCM plan that includes communications, learning strategy, sponsor roadmap, and other outreach and adoption activities.
  • Understanding the strategic vision of the initiative (e.g., end state business vision and objectives of the project).
  • Perform Stakeholder Analysis: Identify different types of stakeholders and assess stakeholder needs, challenges, resistance, and motivations to understand how to best engage different stakeholders throughout the change.
  • Assess Change Readiness: Analyze the current state with regards to appetite and adaptability to handle change.
  • Applying a structured methodology (e.g., process, tools, and templates) in leading organization change management activities to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by an initiative.
  • Conduct Change Impact Assessment: Examine the effect of the implementation on the organization from a multi-dimensional people, process, technology, information, and organizational perspective.
  • Creating actionable deliverables for key change management components: Stakeholder Analysis, Change Impact Assessment, Change readiness, Organizational Change management plan, and Adoption/Sustainment plan.
  • Coordinate and partner with the GDIT Learning and Development (L&D) team to develop a learning strategy and curriculum to ensure staff have the appropriate knowledge and skills to adopt the change.
  • Coordinate and partner with Internal Communications to develop a communications plan tailor for specific stakeholder audiences leveraging appropriate channels necessary to affect change.

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Support the design, development, delivery, and management of communications.
  • Consult and coach program/project team members on Change Management fundamentals.
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.
  • Contribute to project management plans and integrate change management activities into the project plan.
  • Demonstrate consulting mindset and collaboration with internal customers and delivery partners across GDIT functional departments (e.g., HR, IT, Finance, CAMO, etc.).
  • Practice enhancement (collateral development, thought leadership contributions, knowledge management) and continued improvement of the Organizational Change management methodology, processes, and templates.
  • Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Preferred Skills: Change management certification or designation desired (e.g., PROSCI, CCMP, or others). Preferable experience in the Information Technology industry.
  • Clearance: None required
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts and/or business transformations. Experience and knowledge of organizational change management principles, methodologies, and tools. Solid understanding of ADKAR or similar change models, resistance management, and stakeholder engagement. Understanding of business process development techniques and structured approaches to conducting change impact assessment. Consulting mindset with curiosity and tenacity for change; willingness to challenge the status quo for continuous improvement; and forward looking with a holistic approach and the end vision. Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges. Understanding of the project management approach, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences and facilitate stakeholder workshops.
  • Location: This position can be remote but will require traveling to GDIT HQ in Northern VA 1-2 times a year
  • Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Education/Experience: Bachelors degree, Technical Training or Certifications with 10+ years relevant professional consulting experience. In lieu of degree 14+ years relevant professional consulting experience required.
