Job Description

Our new Operations Manager position will be responsible for all aspects of production in our Barberton, OH facility.  You will ensure that production is carried out efficiently, within budget, and to high quality standard.  Plan and coordinate production activities and maintenance of company assets.  Establish production priorities while keeping effective operations and cost factors, utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment. Continuously strives to improve all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement.
What you'll be doing:
  • Ensure Standard Work documentation is up-to-date and followed. This includes taking actions to correct routine audit deficiencies and customer quality complaints.
  • Lead approximately 10-15 manufacturing associates and ensure production needs and quality standards are met.
  • Above all, prioritize your safety and your team's safety.  Empower your team to speak up and take action if they see something unsafe.
  • Provides input to the annual budget and capex and responsible for their execution.
  • Identifying problems in the production process and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Develop an environment of high employee engagement.  Coach and develop teammates so they know how to do their jobs efficiently, safely, and have confidence that they know what they’re doing.
  • Drive overall accountability for plant safety and implementing related improvement initiatives.
  • Provide regular communications so the team knows what’s going on and what is coming down the road.
  • Organizes and coordinates manufacturing to minimize waste wherever possible.
  • Manage overall product quality, ensuring quality standards are met and continuous improvement initiatives are in place and procedures are followed along with on-time deliveries.
  • Work with Production Planning to plan and schedule requirements for the plant and follows-up performance against estimates.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for the plant.

What you'll bring to the table:
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and an ERP
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry work experience
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing in a union environment a plus
