Summary of Job Duties:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Student Outreach and Innovation, the Manager for Online Student Recruitment leads the online student recruitment team for online programs at the University of Arkansas. The position’s objective is to increase the total number of students in the university’s online and distance education programs with a particular focus on the inquiry and recruitment phase of the student experience. This position will be responsible for planning and implementing effective recruitment strategies utilizing best practices, market research and ongoing data analysis. Frequent overnight travel is required, including some weekends.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least one year of supervisory experience
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least three years of progressively responsible experience in recruitment, student outreach, or student services in a higher education setting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience successfully working with people from diverse cultures
  • Experience working with transfer, graduate, adult, and/or non-traditional students
  • Experience working at the University of Arkansas
  • Project management experience
  • Experience supervising staff who travel frequently or are distributed across multiple locations
  • Experience planning and implementing effective higher education marketing and recruitment strategies utilizing best practices, research and data analysis
  • Experience traveling on behalf of an institution including travel planning, budgeting, and reconciliation
  • Experience in an online higher education environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of student recruitment and retention practices and principles
  • Ability to develop effective technical tools for supporting recruitment activities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to travel throughout the State of Arkansas and beyond as needed for recruitment purposes
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, including prioritizing competing demands
  • Ability to manage all aspects of complex programs and events
  • Outstanding organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain the strictest level of confidentiality
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
  • Strong decision-making and organizational skills delivered from a client-centered perspective

Additional Information:

Salary Information:
$54,000 - $59,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
