The Illinois Gaming Board is seeking an Office Coordinator to work in the Gaming Field Operations Division. If you have the needed experience and qualifications, we encourage you to apply!

The IGB administers a regulatory and tax collection system for the expanding casino gambling, video gaming and sport wagering in Illinois. Essential Functions:

  • Utilizes several computer applications relative to Casino operations.
  • Processes mail, inventory, and files.
  • Processes Travel Vouchers.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
  • Serves as a training coordinator for the Casino.
  • As an Office Coordinator, performs technical secretarial and office support functions for the Gaming Unit Supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 30 WPM.
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience OR two (2) years of independent business experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefers 2 years of experience in an office setting applying extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Prefers 2 years of experience in an office setting applying extensive knowledge of manual and automated office equipment.
  • Prefers 2 years of experience in an office setting applying extensive knowledge of office practices and procedures.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: For the one year immediately preceding employment, an employee shall not have been employed or received compensation or fees for services from a person or entity, or its parent or affiliate, that has engaged in business with the Board, a licensee, or a licensee under the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975.
  • Must comply with the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act: No State employee who works for the Illinois Gaming Board, or spouse or immediate family member living with such person shall, during State employment, hold an ownership interest in, other than a passive interest in, a publicly traded company, in any gaming license under the Illinois Gambling Act, the Video Gaming Act, the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975, or the Sports Wagering Act.
  • Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: No person shall be employed to serve the Board who is, or whose spouse, parent or child is, an official of, or has a financial interest in or financial relation with, any operator engaged in gambling operations within this State, or any organization engaged in conducting horse racing within this State.
  • Pass Illinois Gaming Board’s background investigation (background check).
