Position Overview
Under general supervision, performs a variety of complex clerical functions, utilizing a number of general office procedures related to the processing of criminal and non-criminal justice submissions.
Job Responsibilities
35% 1. Performs criminal history record information maintenance functions and retrieves data to read, create, update or delete criminal history record transactions using manual or automated processes. Sorts computer generated responses; inserts into envelopes and mails.
25% 2. Types documents requiring an understanding of specialized terms, operates various office equipment to retrieve archived criminal records, fee related submissions or other documents generated within the Bureau of identification: sets up and adjusts imaging equipment; keys data; prepares and maintains appropriate documentation of archived work.
20% 3. Provides non-technical information and assistance to criminal justice and non-criminal justice agencies or individuals regarding departmental rules, policies and procedural guidelines as they pertain to the criminal history record information program.
15% 4. Performs rudimentary tasks associated with maintaining electronic equipment. Monitors and maintains various types of electronic office equipment. Makes certain equipment is used to send and receive electronic submissions and responses operates properly by changing toner, loading paper, clearing paper jams cleaning and vacuuming machines and reporting equipment failures to appropriate personnel.
5% 5.Other duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Knowledge, skill and metal development equivalent to the completion of high school, and one (1) year of related office experience.
2. Required to accurately type 35 wpm.
Preferred Qualifications
1. One (1) year experience and working knowledge of the state CHRI program
2. One (1) year experience obtaining and maintaining LEADS certification (L TFA)
