Job Description
Job ResponsibilitiesPerforms a variety of difficult and responsible clerical duties and keyboarding pertaining to the intra-facility medical clinics in the Civil Nursing Program of Elgin Mental Health Center. Assigns and schedules patients for various clinics. Prepares and processes paperwork required for all clinic visits whether they are within the facility, another State facility or an outside hospital or infirmary. Maintains filing and tickler system of information on patients. Utilizes electronic data base file for Civil Nursing Program and records of the same. Maintains appointment book for the scheduling of appointments. Assists other clerical employees within the Civil Nursing Program Clerical Service. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one year of related office experience. Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 35 wpm. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law. Requires ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
