We are searching for a Nursing Professional Development Specialist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will manage interdisciplinary clinical learning and performance improvement initiatives and improve clinical performance.

Qualifications
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

• 3 years’ experience as an educator with responsibility for multiple units or departments required
• RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact required
• Master’s degree in clinical or educational focus required

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, develops and markets learning interventions that facilitate application of learning in the workplace as measured by documents developed participant feedback and peer and supervisor observation.
• Designs/improves a framework for the cost-effective management of the ten key departmental processes. Continually improves performance relative to the key processes
• Provides classroom learning facilitation that provides for the application of key learning concepts into practice, as measured by participant feedback and peer and supervisor observation
• Precepts centralized educators and facilitates a timely, effective orientation as measured by performance of educators and orientation paperwork
• Develops and updates at least annually a business plan for assigned key processes, as measured by written business plans. Updates of plans continually raise the performance bar for educators and staff
• Participate in development of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) guidelines, policies and procedures, and standards or practice models with integration of EBP
• Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of learning interventions (levels 1, 2, 3, and 4) and compiles and reports findings along with appropriate next steps, as measured by participant feedback, manager feedback, cost worksheets, peer and supervisor observation and performance outcomes
• Participates as a nurse planner
• Conducts a performance effectiveness assessment to identify gaps between desired and actual performance as measured by completed assessments
