Network Engineer Jobs

Design, implement, and provide ongoing support for the UF Health network environment (local and wide area networks). This role reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager.
Responsibilities include: Installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, performance monitoring, management and optimization to ensure stability and integrity of the data, voice, video and wireless networks; implement network security standards and VPN solutions; development and testing of backup and recovery procedures; problem identification and resolution; network conceptual and logical designs; network documentation.
Assist in research, analyze and recommend standards, procedures, and new technologies to improve network availability, performance, and recovery.
May be responsible for assisting with projects. Must possess ability to meet proposed timelines.
Team oriented with a willingness to cross train with other UF Health technical staff. On-call support responsibilities are required.

Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education:
Associate’s Degree in an applicable field (Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, etc.).
Necessary Skills:
1. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.
2. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
3. Must have basic understanding/experience relative to PC's.
Required Experience:
One to three (1-3) years’ experience in an IT healthcare or technical field. Working knowledge of information technology processes.
Preferred Experience:
1-3 years direct network experience in a healthcare environment.

Technical certification(s) CCNA certification
