About the Team
The infrastructure team builds and operates hyper-scale datacenters, as well as a large network of edge POPs around the world, hosting infrastructure services including widely distributed Content Distribution Networks (CDNs). We are actively investing in sourcing multi public cloud vendors for our edge expansion. We are seeking experienced Network Development Engineers to build the enterprise-level multi cloud infrastructure platforms to serve Bytedance products, on top of which developers can easily deploy and manage their applications.
Responsibilities

• Optimize the edge network from both performance and cost perspectives, by analyzing data, setting up peering and applying various traffic engineering tools
• Design, build and manage TikTok's rapidly growing edge network
• Establish processes and procedures for operations and turn-ups.
• Diagnose root cause for network issues, participate in on-call rotation and be an escalation point for service incidents

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working on BGP and anycast routing
• Experience understanding and mitigating network hardware and topology failures
• 1-3 years of experience working in a hyperscale network environment or service provider
• Experience in configuration and maintenance of network devices and NMS systems, or applications such as web servers, load balancers
• Experience developing and understanding network device configuration for at least one vendor (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Ciena, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to automate routing tasks using code
• Protocol experience in one or more of MPLS, ISIS or similar routing protocols • understanding of typical configurations and performance
• Understanding and development of Load Balancing and Peering in CDN Architectures
• Experience working with Network Automation tools like Ansible or Salt
• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $112200 - $205000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
