Job Title: Music Content Operations Specialist
Client Location: Culver City, CA (hybrid)
Starting: 06/26/2023
Salary/Pay Rate: $45 to $50 an hour
Hours: Full-time
Duration: 3 months to start with possibly extension

For this assignment with Aquent's client, we are seeking an experienced Music Content Operations Specialist to define and reliably execute distribution, rights management, and artist support. You will need to roll your sleeves up to get things done but also have a strategic, long term view to systematize and streamline everything we do. This role is a unique opportunity to help Platoon’s efforts in an ever-evolving, critical area. You will work closely with artists, marketing and business teams to ensure releases are correctly are set up, and go live seamlessly. You will also be responsible for onboarding artists to Platoon’s MCN, and for maintaining onboarded channels. The ideal candidate will have the right combination of entrepreneurial hustle, experience working with music content and a focus on detail to make things run smoothly.
Key Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience of digital music distribution, including the systems and metadata required to support it.
- Deep knowledge of metadata specifications, and CMS'.
- Excellent communication skills. Including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely across multiple audiences and partners.
- Style Guide knowledge is a strong plus.
- Be able to juggle projects and repetitive, detail-oriented work.
- Experience designing processes and comfort driving results through KPI’s is a strong plus.
- Exhibit confidence in calling out issues and presenting to senior management on project status and schedules.
- Experience working with artists or management companies to plan the logistics of key releases.
- Results-oriented, upbeat and focused with a strong passion to learn and succeed.
- Skilled with Excel, Numbers, Tableau, and/or similar analytical applications.
- 5+ years of operations experience for a reputable label or distributor.
- Youtube certified, with experience of uploading and tagging videos/channels for search optimization.
- Passion for contemporary Pop, Soul/R&B, African and Hip Hop genres.
Description
You will:
- Oversee testing and bug reviews of new features.
- Manage multi-faceted operations and metadata projects.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (legal, tax, policy, support etc) to prepare new features for launch.
- Collaborate with Music leads to onboard new artists, including demo-ing services and platform features.
- Optimize artist videos and channels for search on Youtube.
- Strive for continuous improvement and boundary-pushing initiatives.
- Approve, deliver, and ensure perfect go-live of releases at DSPs.
- Strategize with the wider Product & Business team to build the best platform for Artists.
- Advise music and marketing teams regarding release plans, lead-times and due dates.
- Provide timely artist support that puts artists' needs first.
- Manage operational relationships with distribution partners.
