Reviews, evaluates, translates, and records documents; utilizes technology to provide translation in both English and the designated language; applies best practices throughout the translation process regarding accuracy, standardization, and quality control; ensures that translated content retains the original meaning and format.

Required

• Knowledge and understanding of the culture and customs of the designated language within countries.
• Ability to apply knowledge to the needs and requirements of a public school system.
• Ability to fluently and effectively communicate in both English and the designated second language, orally and in writing.
• Ability to adhere to project timelines and meet deadlines.
• Ability to participate in professional development activities.
• Ability to provide guidance and maintain confidentiality, at all times.
• Proficiency in the use of technology.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in education, languages, sociology, social work, or related field.
• Knowledge of translation best practices in educational settings.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with culturally diverse families and staff.
• Knowledge of specific school-based terminology, such as special education vocabulary.
• Two (2) years of progressively more responsible bilingual language experience, with proficiency in the designated language.

Preferred

• Certification by the American Translator's Association (ATA).
