Job Description
Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant - Bilingual Translator. The appointee will report to the Director-Bilingual/ESL and will be responsible for translating school district professional documents, public and parent communications, and other items, as required. The person will work closely with the Bilingual Director and other district personnel.

Qualifications: The Administrative Assistant - Bilingual Translator will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and appropriate training, preferably by a recognized translation organization.

Preference will be given to applicants who:
  • Possess at least a Bachelor's degree
  • Have an understanding of computer functions and programs including word processing, spreadsheet, and database
  • Have strong written and verbal skills in English and Spanish
  • Have a service oriented personality
  • Possess strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Possess effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills
  • Have experience in translating professional documents
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Pay Range: Administrative/Technical Support (5), $20.60 to $29.94 (hourly); 226 days

Employment begins: August 25, 2023; or as soon as possible
