Brown & Brown’s Specialty Risk Solutions, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for a Mergers & Acquisitions Broker to join the Private Equity Practice in Atlanta, GA; New York, NY; or remotely.
As a Mergers & Acquisitions Broker, you will support the Private Equity Practice in the design and placement of transactional risk products for clients. Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing and summarizing key parts of insurance indication letters and transaction documents
  • Providing support with marketing efforts, including research, creation of marketing materials, white papers, and other external communications
  • Assisting with preparing advice to client regarding carrier selection and deal structure
  • Maintaining strong relationships with key carriers
  • Creating databases and processes to track relevant deal related information, client lists, and meetings
  • Reviewing policy documents for accuracy
  • Coordinating Confidentiality Agreements, Brokerage Agreements, client advisor non-reliance letters, and other engagement materials
  • Attending deal calls with clients to secure transaction information
  • Analyzing, tracking, and preparing reports about deal activity and team placement, including analysis of M&A market trends
  • Reviewing data room, financials, legal documents, and other relevant materials and prepares submissions/coverage specifications
  • Assisting with claims evaluation and process management
  • Managing tracking and timing of deliverables between the client and carriers (including acquisition agreement, agreement schedules, due diligence reports and non-reliance letters)
  • Assisting with processing billing, and follow up with clients on past due accounts
  • Coordinating compliance filings and internal audits
  • Completing all post binding subjectivities including but not limited to delivery of data room contents, closing set, and surplus line forms
  • Complying with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enter and maintain complete and accurate information)
  • Analyzing feedback from carriers and prepares coverage comparison report to share with clients including comprehensive analysis of market terms and recommendations for the insurance program
  • Organizing and participating in underwriting calls with carriers and clients
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Well organized
  • Related work experience required
  • Strong customer service skills, including listening skills
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations on short timelines
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Requires a valid insurance license or willingness to obtain an insurance license within 120 days of hire; must continue to meet requirements for license renewal
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and to foster teamwork
  • Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter/requires minimal supervision; Will seek guidance when needed
  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
