Citibank, N.A. seeks an M&A Lead Analyst for its New York, New York location.


Duties: Support Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Divestitures, and Equity Investments transactions/deals processes from beginning to end. Prepare financial analyses and models in Excel to inform investment decisions and to assess financial and capital impact of various strategic transactions/deals including M&A, Divestitures, and Equity Investments; use comparable company, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow, sum-of-the parts, and merger analysis valuation methodologies to build financial models. Use data platforms FactSet and Bloomberg to source industry and company specific financial information. Perform economic analysis of global financial markets. Coordinate internal assessment and execution of transactions including due diligence review; analyze and review transaction issues with functional leaders, and prepare presentations highlighting key business and legal issues. Coordinate with country and business teams to facilitate production of transaction-related marketing and deal negotiation materials, and approval documents. Participate in contract negotiations and coordinate the internal deal approval process with internal functions including Tax, Accounting, Legal, Operations and Technology, and Risk. Produce reports and updates for leadership and regulators. Support the Separability workstream within the annual Resolution and Recovery Planning exercise, and analysis of financial, legal and operational considerations of divestitures contemplated under Resolution and Recovery plans.


Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Business, Economics, Management or related field and 4 years of experience as an Investment Banking Analyst, Financial Analyst, Sr Analyst, Associate, AVP or related position involving analysis and execution of M&A, Divestitures, and Equity Investments transactions for a global financial institution. 4 years of experience must include: Financial modeling using Microsoft Excel; Discounted cash flow, sum-of-the parts, and merger analysis valuation methodologies including analysis of pro forma financial effects and impact of transactions; Creation of transaction-related marketing and presentation materials; Preparation of negotiation materials for deal teams; Transaction execution processes; Global financial markets and economics analysis; Using data platforms FactSet and Bloomberg to source industry and company specific financial information.
