Position Summary:

Provides support to childcare providers and to infant and toddler specialists to increase their knowledge and skills to improve quality services and achieve the goals and values of the Children's Learning Institute. Creates and provides professional development for infant and toddler teachers, administrators, and specialists in implementation of the Texas Infant-Toddler Specialist Network initiative.


Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Assists in developing and implementing professional development.
  • Provides training and coaching for infant and toddler teachers and specialists.
  • Participates in outreach efforts recruiting and engaging participants.
  • Collaborates with teachers, administrators, and specialists for the Texas Infant-Toddler Specialist Network (ITSN) helping them reach goals for improvements.
  • Provides technical assistance and guidance for participants in the teacher or certification program.
  • Maintains effective and timely written and oral communications with all constituencies.
  • Reads, understands, interprets, and implements applicable policies, procedures, and project requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Infant and Toddler Specialist preferred.

Registered Trainer preferred.

Familiar with the Texas Core Competencies for Trainers and Coaches preferred.

Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Jira preferred.

Knowledge of the Texas, Infant, Toddler, and Three-Year-Old Early Learning Guidelines.

Experience teaching infants and toddlers.

Experience training and/or coaching infant and toddler teachers preferred.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Five years experience in teaching or related field

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive:

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
