Develop an appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.

The ability to understand and support the education program using “learning through play” philosophy.

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development.

An associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field.

Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements.

Perform minor cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately.

We have four full-time managers on site and two on site owners to support our full staff of 35 people

Meeting the individual's needs of the children

Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.

Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.

Using assessment tools to guide individual instruction and adapt to children's individual needs.

Teachers are responsible for ensuring compliance with Primrose's industry-leading Quality Assurance standards.

Experience and knowledge in Early Childhood Education program and teaching standards, including code of ethics – NAEYC standards preferred

Ensuring general classroom management, organization, cleanliness, and maintenance

Enhancing social, emotional, and cognitive development through age-specific manipulatives, activities, and language experiences for children

Observing, assessing, and documenting each assigned child’s health, skills, behavior, growth, and development

Assuming Lead Teacher’s responsibilities in the Lead Teacher’s temporary absence

Remaining compliant with all state licensing requirements as they pertain to health, safety, and professional requirements

Provides technical assistance and guidance for participants in the teacher or certification program.

Reads, understands, interprets, and implements applicable policies, procedures, and project requirements.

Knowledge of the Texas, Infant, Toddler, and Three-Year-Old Early Learning Guidelines.

Experience teaching infants and toddlers.

Experience training and/or coaching infant and toddler teachers preferred.

Five years experience in teaching or related field

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of behavioral and developmental stages of children and knowledge of childcare licensing requirements.

Ability to manage a classroom, including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and problem-solving skills.

Maintains open and effective communication with Management.

Maintains all mandatory certification requirements.

Computer skills, familiar with educational software and curriculum.

Manages classroom ensuring compliance with all Child Care regulations, and company standards, policies, and procedures.

Experience working with groups of children ages 1-3 years

At least a current CDA and 12 months experience working with children grade 3 or younger

Understanding of Vermont Child Care Regulations
