Job Description

ShareWell is the first peer-to-peer support platform providing an affordable alternative to teletherapy via peer support. ShareWell provides a safe, virtual environment with a diverse array of support groups from anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges, to situational challenges like heartbreak or a big life transition. ShareWell’s vision is to create a world where everyone can access the support they need when needed.


Our organization is seeking motivated individuals who have lived experience of mental illness, addiction, trauma, or other life-altering experiences to participate in our Peer Support Training program.


As a Peer Support Training Participant, you will gain valuable knowledge and skills to become a Peer Support Advocate, providing emotional support, guidance, and resources to individuals facing similar challenges. This is a volunteer position, and the ideal candidate should have a passion for helping others, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to personal growth.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Share personal experiences and insights with the group as appropriate.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the training program.
  • Attend and participate in a digital, 5-hour Peer Support Training, completed within a 2-week period.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards other participants and facilitators.
  • Engage in group discussions and activities to enhance learning.
  • Apply learned skills in mock scenarios and role-playing exercises.


Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Willingness to learn and participate in group discussions and activities.
  • Commitment to personal growth and development.
  • Empathy and the ability to listen actively and non-judgmentally.
  • Passion for helping others
  • Willingness to respect and maintain confidentiality and ethical boundaries.
  • Lived experience of mental illness, addiction, trauma, or other life-altering experiences.


ShareWell’s Peer Support Training Program combines theoretical and practical training and is designed to prepare you to lead a discussion on any mental health issue important to you.
