Medical Records Technician - Full-Time/Part-time/Temporary - Buffalo, NY

Job Summary:
Advantmed is hiring enthusiastic Medical Records Technicians! This is a great "foot-in-the-door" position for those looking to be involved in the emerging Healthcare & Technology industry.

Core Responsibilities:
- Upload extracted medical records per assignment
- Travel to medical facilities or provider offices in specified areas to complete review services
- Communicate effectively and professionally with different provider offices
- Comply with HIPAA laws and regulations
- Accurately and efficiently manage paper medical records or an EMR/EHR platform to retrieve information
- Maintain quality and production standards required in accordance with company policy
- Present a professional appearance and attitude when on assignment - business attire is required for all appointments
- Scan relevant components of the medical record to support reviews performed
Requirements:
- Current automobile insurance under your name
- Willingness to travel within 80-mile radius
- Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record
- Availability between 8am-5pm at least four consecutive days per week
- Internet access at home
Preferred Qualifications:
· Hands-on experience with electronic (EMR/EHR) and paper medical records or charts
· Basic computer skills – ability to scan documents, save files, rename files, create folders, and upload to secure servers
Compensation:
· Advantmed pays $18 to $21 hourly for the time you spend retrieving charts or $1.75 per patient chart retrieved* (whichever is the highest)
Additional Benefits:
· Mileage reimbursement or Trip fee
· Company Provided Equipment
· Paid $50 (daily) Food Allowance, when traveling out of state
· Reimbursement for some travel expenses (Toll , Parking)
· Paid Flight + Hotel + Rental (if required)
· Additional driving hours’ benefits (If driving more than 2 hours one way)
NOTE: Following your successful completion of a paid training program, you will be assign to a support team in your geographic area. Each week, you will receive a list of appointments at local Healthcare Facilities. You will arrive at scheduled times and scan/upload the assigned medical records using Advantmed equipment and processes.
