The Department of Human Services, Division of Fee For Service Operations is seeking a Medical Records Examiner to review and evaluate clinical and fiscal records in accordance with established Field Operations review procedures to assess Nursing Facilities compliance with all applicable Federal and State requirements. As a Medical Records Examiner, you will evaluate and review medical, physical, rehabilitative, restorative, and other care being provided to determine appropriateness. You will also review, understand and relate pertinent Departmental, State, and Federal policies, licensure requirements, and regulations to ensure compliance by Medical Assistance (MA)/OLTL providers. In addition, you will participate in the development of new and/or revision to existing medical assistance policies and regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

- Full-time employment.
- Travel: As needed.
- The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
- Work hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Three years of professional experience in the field of medical assistance, health care services, or human services; or
- All employees having non-renewable temporary practice permits issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse, within the one (1) year period as defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
- All positions require an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing; or possession of a non-renewable temporary practice permit issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
