Job Description

The Job: This individual is responsible for taking incoming phone calls from patients seeking information on their medical records request, assisting to process requests, and following through with needed urgent orders. This individual is responsible for logging/documenting release of information forms (ROI) and sending forms to the fulfillment center with an outside vendor. This person will also responding to urgent requests for medical records, fax medical records, ordering charts as needed, and answering busy phones. These duties may be separately assigned as needed.

Do I want to do this job? You will have conversations with strangers who may be in pain and need help in getting their records to the right place. You will take in calls, gather information accurately and quickly about patients, and help research their situation. Our patients are hurting, so you are understanding that they may not always be super pleasant, however, they are very grateful. You will work in a place that expects outstanding experiences; we do this by working hard to assume the best and being curious with all around us. You will be naturally curious, friendly and helpful. You can work the hours for this position ( Monday-Friday between 7:45 AM -5:00 PM) or assigned shift, because, ultimately, we are all here to help patients. You will be working remotely following the successful completion of training at our West Des Moines location.

Can I do this job? You must be able to be on the phone or sit at a keyboard for long periods of time that may seem unnatural. You must have a high school diploma or GED. We will train entry level candidates with passion so don’t be deterred. If you have a degree in health sciences and want apply your knowledge to administration, this may be a good fit. You have great typing and computer skills. You can think on your feet. You have to be able to use confidential information for patient care only. Patient information that gets shared in clinic, stays in clinic.
