Peraxa is recruiting a detail-oriented and knowledgeable individual for a Medical Coder position. The Medical Coder plays a vital role in accurately assigning medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services provided by healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have anunderstanding of medical coding systems, coding guidelines, and reimbursement practices. Qualifications:

Responsibilities

• Assign appropriate medical codes (such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS) to accurately represent the medical services provided.
• Verify and validate the accuracy and completeness of documentation to support the assigned codes.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to clarify documentation and obtain additional information when needed.
• Review and analyze patient medical records, including diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered.
• Ensure coding is done in compliance with established coding guidelines, regulations, and reimbursement policies.
• Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle management teams to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement processes.
• Review claim denials or discrepancies related to coding and provide necessary documentation or clarification for claim resubmission or appeals.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using coding software, encoders, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in medical coding (such as CPC, CCS, or CCA) is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical coding systems, such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Proven experience as a medical coder or in a similar coding role in a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with coding guidelines and regulations, including CMS and other payer-specific coding rules.
• Knowledge of insurance claim submission processes, reimbursement practices, and medical billing concepts.

Salary :

Pay - $15 - $20 per hour
