Medical Billing Assistant (Part-Time)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Copying and mailing letters to patients (including addressing and stuffing the envelopes)

· Mailing and copying claims and appeal letters including addressing and stuffing the envelopes

· Faxing the Auto Claims to insurance companies

· Scanning and uploading various documents in to the Billing Software-Orders, WC PO’s, appeal packets, Medical Records, EOB’s, and Denials, LMN’s.

· Entering the new patient demographics into the Billing software

· Assisting the Director with other various clerical tasks as needed

· Entering data into spreadsheets

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

· High school diploma or GED

· Prior clerical experience preferred

Requirements

· This position requires a large amount of data entry and scanning of documents.

· Attention to detail

· Accuracy of data entry

· Ability to work at a fast pace

· Highly organized

· Excellent typing skills

· Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time

· Ability to use computer and computer accessories

· Ability to use computer for long periods of time

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

• Shelton, CT 06484: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

• Clerical: 1 year (Preferred)
