Anne Arundel Dermatology is currently looking for a medical assistant with a positive, can-do attitude, who consistently exhibits a passion for helping patients.


Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Trains other employees on medical assistant duties as required by the practice
  • At least two (2) years medical assisting experience (preferred)
  • Prepare syringes and administer subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections as directed by the physician
  • Assist provider with injectable procedures
  • Performs light janitorial duty including but not limited to, cleaning exam rooms in between patients, stocking paper towels, toilet paper and cleaning spills
  • Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Maintain medication samples, discard out-of-date supplies, and keep appropriate records
  • Assist with check in or check out procedures at the front desk when needed as back up
  • Prepare patients for laser procedures and/or fill liquid nitrogen canister
  • Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete the patient intake according to protocol
  • Able to communicate with doctor clearly and concisely
  • Clean and straighten exam room between patients
  • Able to communicate with patients and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Professionalism and strong customer service skills is a must
  • Respond to patient questions in office and via phone as instructed by the physician
  • Notify providers and patients of pathology and lab results
  • Schedule or re-schedule appointments with providers, specialists as necessary. Send appropriate records as necessary
  • Knowledgeable of dermatological diseases and medicines OR the willingness and capacity to study and quickly learn
  • Dispenses oral medications as directed
  • Prepare pathology and lab specimens and route them to the correct lab as required by the patient’s insurance
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and able to work well within a team
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant OR completion of a bachelor’s degree program in a pre-med or pre-physician’s assistant track (required)
  • Set-up, clean, sterilize and inventory all medical equipment and instruments, including procedure trays
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients
  • Perform additional duties as required
  • Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds, stand for prolonged periods (i.e. an hour at a time) and use a step stool
  • Work in compliance with OSHA, blood borne pathogen standards

Schedule Part-time, 10-15 hours per week. Tuesdays and Thursdays evening availability is required.


  • Perform cosmetic injection treatments in a state-of-the-art facility
  • Follow all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
  • Contribute to the growth of the company
  • Passionate about the beauty industry and helping people achieve their confidence goals
  • Teach patients how to care for their skin and be able to sell patients on skin care products.
  • Work in a team oriented environment
  • Experience in cosmetics/aesthetics required
  • Experience in injectables required
  • Great people skills and work well in a busy environment
  • Team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred
  • Have a good working knowledge of all aesthetic procedures offered within the practice, and cross promote other services offered.
  • Medical Spa, Cosmetic Dermatology, or clinical dermatology experience is preferred
  • Administer treatments such as Botox, Xeomin and dermal fillers.
  • Assist in consultations and follow up visits
  • Attend all company trainings, meetings and continuing education events
  • Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina
  • Willing to learn and able to meet and exceed sales goals
  • Sell treatment packages, upgrade patients to have other treatments and cross promote to cosmetic/plastic surgery if that is a better option for the patient.
  • Have a strong knowledge of current client care techniques/trends in skin care and injectables
  • Work with highly skilled team members to further professional development
