About our client:

McCaskill Family Practice is a thriving, patient-focused medical practice that specializes in providing high-quality healthcare services to individuals and families. We are currently seeking an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should be dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

  • Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready.
  • Assist the physician during examinations and procedures by providing the necessary tools, supplies, and support.
  • Record patients' medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform routine diagnostic tests, such as blood draws and EKGs, following established protocols.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician, ensuring proper dosage and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, and general health topics.

Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to ensure timely care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHRs), adhering to all applicable privacy and security regulations.
  • Assist with billing and insurance verification tasks as needed.
  • Order and maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers.
  • Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, including both clinical and administrative training.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a family practice or primary care environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • BLS certification required or willingness to obtain within first 90 days of employment.
