Position Description:

- Looking for a Medical Assistant (MA) that is responsible for maintaining a highly professional environment and ensuring a collaborative relationship with patients and physicians.
- Assist with the non-clinical tasks required to ensure smooth patient access and flow including scheduling patients which can include follow up office visits, imaging and lab work, preparation of appropriate chart elements to name a few.
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure all proper records are received and all appropriate testing is completed prior to appointment/surgery date.
- Provide updates to the staff and patients on timing and status for all the above tasks that could have an impact on the patient’s health and/or testing and treatment options.
- Oversee pre-authorization process and act as a liaison between the providers and patient.
- Responsibilities & Duties (including but not limited to):
Skills & Requirements:
Required:
- Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- High school graduate or equivalent; Graduate of Medical Assistant program or one year previous medical back-office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system environment.
Preferred:
- Working Knowledge of EPIC or other Electronic Medical Record system ‘EMR
- Qualified bilingual or multilingual candidates
- Minimum one (1) year previous medical back-office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system environment
- Associate or Bachelor's’ degree in healthcare-related field
Certifications Required:
- Current BLS Certification
Certifications Preferred:
- Current Limited Phlebotomy Certification
- Medical Assistant Certification
