Nucor Steel, a Fortune 100 Company and recently named Fortune’s best workplace in Manufacturing and Production is seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Supervisor in our Auburn, NY location. Nucor Steel Auburn (NY) is one of Nucor’s many bar mill facilities with advanced steelmaking capabilities. The Maintenance Supervisor is an integral member of the leadership team and must be committed to excellence in everything we do.

This position is a day shift supervisory position with responsibilities for emergent situations after hours, weekends, and holidays. The supervisor is responsible for building and leading a team of mechanical technicians. Responsibilities include execution of effective maintenance processes, team member training, and development, identification and implementation of process improvement opportunities, and project management. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams and is directly responsible for leading the mechanical maintenance team to achieve results in safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience with maintenance of industrial mechanical equipment and systems
• Minimum 2-year degree in a mechanical discipline, equivalent technical training, or a prior leadership position in industrial maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Melt Shop Experience
• Experience in a leadership role
• Project Management experience
