The day-to-day:
Do you enjoy taking equipment apart and then putting it together again or fixing equipment when it isn’t working correctly? You will utilize your mechanical skills by putting together assemblies for Viasat, including large antennas, using light equipment and tooling. Working as part of a bigger team within our Manufacturing area, your sense of teamwork will draw you into additional duties, including moving equipment and integrating assemblies into our bigger systems. If you can learn the job, we’ll train you to do it, and do it right, from documentation to following processes and procedures!

Work week is Monday thru Friday (Day Shift) Available to work overtime as required.
What you'll need:
  • 2+ years experience in mechanical assembly (mechanical tools, drills, and impact tools, professional or personal)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outside at heights up to 100 feet
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • Ability to follow instructions and read fabrication drawings
  • US government position. US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to install bearings, gears, and motors.
  • Ability to work with Bills of Material, Engineering Change Orders Ability to use Oracle
  • High School Diploma or GED US government position. US

FAA safety sensitive: This is an FAA safety sensitive position, which requires participation in our Drug-Alcohol program, including pre-employment testing and random testing. It is an essential function of the position that the employee meets the safety requirements of the FAA. Salary range: $20.82 - $33.1 / hourly : At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
