ENERCON’s Energy, Renewables & Environmental Services (ERES) Group provides engineering design support to industrial facilities, traditional power generation facilities (natural gas, steam, and hydro turbines), as well as alternative, renewable, and sustainable power generation facilities (waste-to-energy, solar, wind, and hydrogen). ERES focuses on green energy solutions that achieve large-scale production with minimal environmental impacts.
Due to our continued growth, our Energy, Renewables & Environmental Services Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Kennesaw, GA or Tampa, FL offices.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Consult with other disciplines to ensure designs are compatible with and have considered all discipline requirements.
- Generate engineering-related documents (e.g., calculations, study reports, specifications, and drawings) in accordance with client and/or ENERCON procedures, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and other company or project specifications.
- Learn discipline-specific tools and software.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Build strong relationships with clients through professional interactions and communications, and through the development of quality engineering products.
- Apply basic technical principles, theories, standards, and concepts in order to put together engineering design packages.
- Travel to plant sites to interface with client personnel, and to perform walkdowns of plant structures, systems, and components related to the project work.
- Gain familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards, safety culture, and design techniques suitable to the heavy industrial or power generation industry.
Required Qualifications/Skills
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or similar engineering degree, from an ABET accredited university.
- Basic familiarity with Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- Ability to traverse client sites while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to conduct walkdowns.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. The position may involve client site support which can last several weeks or months at a time.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Must be able to work outside at client sites in all weather conditions.
- Familiarity with preparing Mechanical calculations.
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in project teams.
- Proficient in typical office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
- Previous internship, job, or shadowing experience in design engineering in heavy industrial or power industry
- EIT Certification
Employment Requirement
Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client specific background checks, possess a valid driver’s license, and complete initial and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) checks according to company and client policies.
Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
