Summary

Our client is looking for a Materials Manager to manage the Materials Planning & Logistics team supporting the Advanced Thermal Systems business. This role’s responsibilities will span from customer service, production scheduling, material planning, warehouse, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions to supply chain challenges, working with engineering, procurement, and quality to ensure customer satisfaction is protected
  • Engages with teams to lead solutions and improvements
  • Maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness within the material storage areas of the facility, employing 5S activities daily
  • Participate in Daily Management by asking questions, assigning responsibilities, and facilitating problem-solving
  • Develop the Materials team
  • Develop material strategies that meet customer requirements, company targets, and creates stability across the supply chain.
  • Leverage lean manufacturing concepts to improve material flow in the facility, and to improve warehousing, service parts, receiving, and stores operations
  • Oversight of the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process
  • Identify important supply chain change points and produce compelling strategies for mitigation
  • Application of 80-20 principles to improve the business
  • Safety leadership and culture development
  • Support the extraction and consolidation of important functional performance metrics
  • Support new product launch projects while developing strategies to meet program timing, cost, quality, and delivery goals
  • Owner of production planning, purchasing of productive and non-productive materials, inventory management, managing shipments, and customer satisfaction
  • Lead team of Customer Service Representatives, Production Planners, Plant Buyers, and Warehouse personnel


Qualifications

  • Experience navigating an ERP system and SAP skills are required
  • Experience transitioning products from prototype to production
  • Highly organized, good attention to detail, capable of multi-tasking and following through on tasks to completion
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), able to work with all partners, and act as a professional representative of the corporation.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, effective communicator at all organizational levels
  • 7+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment or similar industry
  • Understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 and how it relates to the materials group
  • 3 years in a direct management position with multiple direct reports
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Operations, Business Management, Engineering, or another technical field
  • Experience with electrical and HVAC components
  • Eagerness to operate in a dynamic fast-paced environment with an ability to drive change
