Job Description
Hayward Holdings Inc. (NYSE "HAYW") is the largest manufacturer of residential swimming pool equipment in the world, with a significant presence in the commercial pool market that is continuously growing. Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. This position is based in Nashville, TN.


This employee directs activities of the Planning/Purchasing Department. Implements, policies and procedures to streamline efficiencies to ensure on-time delivery, liaison with Corporate to analyze and forecast productions and inventory requirements. Responsible for raw, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels.


Responsibilities


  • Lean manufacturing training, skills, experience, and implementation.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
  • Responsibilities include technical and industry knowledge, support engineering, quality programs and safety programs. Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills in coordination with all Internal Departments, Corporate Departments, Suppliers and Consultants/Contractors.
  • Work with Plant Controller on Financials (i.e., forecast, reconciliation, work orders, etc.)
  • Strong Analytical capabilities with the ability to structure large volumes of data into planning and actionable management information.
  • Responsible for the delivery of materials for production, planning of production lines, maintain inventory levels of components and raw materials.
  • Recommends and implements Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Utilize problem solving techniques using internal/external support to determine root-cause of Supplier quality issues and request or participate in corrective action implementation.
  • Experience developing / using supplier scorecard system
  • Daily management of Purchasing, Production Control and Planning, Inventory and Stockroom, and Traffic functions.
  • Experience with "future or forward buy" purchasing. Proven negotiating skills and capital equipment product exposure.
  • Apply and utilize project management and project planning techniques, including prioritization, scheduling, resource allocation and coordination, communication, financial impact and control.
  • Project management-training, skills and experience with make-vs-buy decisions. Knowledge of fabrication techniques (i.e. sheet metal), coordination of engineering changes, leader for new product introductions, understanding of assembly and test techniques.
  • Expert level using MRP/ERP systems, experienced at implementation of new MRP systems, AS/400 and Microsoft D365 background preferred.
  • Ability to use MRP system and other data analytics to create production schedules and other production documents
  • Drive the improvement and coordination of materials activities. Recommend measures for improvement in engineering and quality. Generate/motivate conceptual ideas and improvements on how materials can better support manufacturing concepts and programs, evaluate the merit of each, and effectively manage the development and implementation process for those approved.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Outsourcing and global sourcing/currency experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Liaison with the Corporate Supply Chain Director where applicable and assist in the annual operating Expense budget.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university (BSME preferred)
  • Five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management.
